"Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be
healed; Save Me and I shall be saved: For thou art my praise.."
Jeremiah 17:14
Dear Friends in Christ,
Shortly after sending our newsletter
in February, I experienced severe abdominal pain. The doctors
diagnosed that scar tissue adhering to my small intestine had twisted shut
and caused the pain. The scar tissue was a result of the
appendectomy I had months earlier. I
then underwent a second major surgery. Because of this surgery,
which required six weeks recuperation, several planned trips were
canceled. As of the middle of this month, the doctors have stated
that my surgery has healed.
Family
News
David is improving daily as a result
of the therapy he is receiving. He can count audibly to twenty
though he does not yet talk. He is quick to sign the alphabet and is
communicating through sign language.
We are asking the Lord to provide the
funds to attend a Christian family camp in July 2004. The camp is
geared specifically for children with disabilities and their
families. We will meet with other parents in a support group.
There will be some rest and relaxation as David would be assigned a
full-time care-giver for that time. It would also be a time of
witness and testimony.
Camp
The estimated attendance is 800
persons. One hundred and fifty professions of faith were made, and
more than forty surrendered to full-time service service. Praise God
for the good reports! The Lord provided pleasant
weather. Heavy downpours fell nearby, but it did not rain on the
campsite. We had looked forward to attending and were disappointed
when it was not possible because of my health.
One Million Tracts
At the beginning of the year we
received one million tracts. They came in 100 boxes weighing forty
pounds each. Because of my health problems, we had been unable to
take them into Mexico before now. Last week I made a trip to the
border to deliver 16 boxes to different churches and works ministering to
the people of Mexico. Pray with us that the Lord will provide the
means of transporting all the boxes as soon as possible.
Prayer Requests
A trip to the Bible Institute in
Leon, Guanajuato in May 2004.
A trip to Michoacan where missionary
Juan Antonio Orta and his wife are beginning a new work in Santa Cassilda.
For New Testaments and Bibles that
are always requested by the native missionaries.
An heir of God through Christ,
Joel Silos, D.D.
