December  2008

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Greetings in the Name of Jesus, our wonderful Savior!  We praise God for His goodness, His mercy, and His grace!!

We praise Him also for the many professions of faith that were made during the fiscal year of September, 2007 through August, 2008.  According to the native missionaries' monthly reports, 1185 professions of faith were made in the church services and 2762 persons were led to the Lord in personal evangelism in home visitation and/or on the streets.

We can never know, but surely the Lord does, how many more have been won through the literature distribution ministry.  Bibles, New Testaments, Gospel booklets, and/or millions of tracts are made available to many pastors, whom we will never meet personally this side of heaven, through conferences and meetings.  After the meetings, often times the men will cart the boxes on their shoulders to the bus station (Central de Autobuses), and other means of travel.  Some load their vehicles as much as possible as they take the literature to other pastors in their home areas.  For all this, we PRAISE THE LORD!

At our Board Meeting last month, one of the members calculated that for every $28.04 invested in Spanish Baptist Missions, there is a profession of faith.  We are humbled by the Lord's mercy and grace on leading people to support this ministry.  TO GOD IS ALL THE GLORY!!

Prayer request

Mephibosheth Ministry:  provides for the disabled and their care-givers to attend camp free of charge.  Camp will be April 6th through the 11th, 2009, in Leon, Guanajuato.

BLESSINGS FOR CHRISTMAS AND THE NEW YEAR!

Family News

We thank God for traveling mercies for the many miles traveled this year.  As Director, I travel two weeks or more out of every month.  I appreciate Karen's cooperation in looking after the home and family while I am away.

At this time of the year, we want to sincerely extend our gratitude for the confidence expressed by individuals and churches in allowing us to be their representatives on the mission field.  It is a privilege to be an encouragement to the pastors in Mexico in spreading the gospel.  We praise God for all that is accomplished!

We remember those of our friends who have gone home to be with the Lord.  We thank God for the encouragement they were for many years.

DAVID

The ongoing job of finding care-takers for David has been successful.  Thank you for your prayers.  After many interviews and much training, we now have two wonderful women who help us with him.  Because of his weight and strength, it has become a challenge for David to attend Sunday School.

MARY

Mary is applying to colleges and universities for scholarships.  Please help us pray that the Lord's will may be done as to where she should attend and for the means to do so.

FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS,

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Joel Silos, D.D.
