"But I will hope continually, and will yet
praise thee more and more." Psalm 71:14
Dear friends in Christ,
As you can see by the enclosed notice, our son
Stevie is now with the Lord. Stevie suffered six months with fever
during the night before the doctors diagnosed endocarditis. As a
result of the infection, Stevie had a stroke on the 8th of February 2000
and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 15, 2000.
We praise God for taking Stevie home in His
timing. Thank you to the many people who sent cards, flowers, and
offerings. they are appreciated very much and they helped defray
some of the funeral expenses. due to all of Stevie's medical
problems, no insurance company would sell us any medical or life insurance
for him. The Lord was gracious in providing all of Stevie's needs
throughout his life.
God has been merciful and gracious to us during this
time. Please pray for us by name as we each try to adjust to
Stevie's home-going. Also, pray for David as he has had an ear
infection for the past six weeks. Mary continues with violin lessons
and has begun to learn to play the flute.
April 2000
Please be much in prayer as Sandra and Sammy, wife
and son of missionary Jose Luis Herrera of Guadalajara, Jalisco, will come
to San Antonio on april 6th. Sammy was born with a cleft palate and
is scheduled for his 11th facial reconstructive surgery. They will
stay with my mother, Rebecca T. Silos, who is also our administrative
assistant, while he recuperates.
May 2000
The conference in the Yucatan has been rescheduled
for May 2000. We support four native Mayan missionaries in that
area. Please pray that many souls will be saved and Christians will
be edified as a result of the conference.
June 2000
Pastor Merrill H. Coram and a youth group from
temple Baptist Church, Thomasville, Georgia, will come to work with one of
the missionaries in Mexico. Pray for the Lord's will to be done and
for safety as they travel.
