"Pure religion and undefiled before God and
the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their
affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."
James 1:27
Dear friends in Christ,
Thank you for paraying for Karen, Mary, David, and
for me. The Lord is graciously encouraging our hearts as we cope
with Stevie's Homegoing. We rejoice that he is in heaven and know we
will see him again.
Some of the offerings in Stevie's memory were
designated for an orphanage in the Ukraine that ministers specifically to
children with Down's Syndrome. We were able to purchase, at one
quarter the regular price, balls that can be used in therapy sessions and
in play. The balls are in the process of being shipped to the
orphanage.
Conference in the Yucatan
Two of our Board members and three others from north
Carolina attended the conference in May, 2000. Services were held in
Ticuh, Valladolid, Puerto Progreso, and Huhi. Souls were saved and
believers consecrated their lives anew to the Lord. to God be the
Glory! Pastor Isidro Ontiveros of Iglesia Bautista Bethel in Leon,
Guanajuato, preached challenging messages. We met other native
workers also fighting the war against satan.
Tracts for the Native
Missionaries
In May 2000, we took all the literature on hand to
the missionaries in Tamaulipas. We are very grateful to Brother
Frank Woodford of Panama City, Florida, for sending 700,000 more
tracts. Pray that all literature will be given into the hands of
people searching for the good news of the Lord's saving grace and His
love.
Personal Prayer Request
Karen is scheduled for laser eye surgery July 6,
2000 in Houston. Please pray that the Lord will supply the needed
amount to cover the costs..
An heir of God through Christ,
Joel Silos,
Director

Blessings |
|
Asuncion Lopez, El Penon,
Guanajuato |
| The church will be
celebrating four years of following God's will. One of the
challenges is that the Jehovah Witness (false) sect has a stronghold in
that town. |
|
Francisco Pat
Coba, Telchaquillo, Yucatan |
| One more family's
membership was regained. |
|
Ismael Flores,
San Francisco del Rincon, Guanajuato |
| Two months ago, prayer
meetings were initiated at 6:00 on Saturday mornings which resulted in a
church revival. Some young people consecrated their lives at a
youth camp in April 2000. Bro. Ismael and Nancy praise God for the
birth of their son Nahum in March 2000. |
|
Sergio Navarro,

| Services continue to be
held in a mountain village with good attendance. Their immediate
plan is to begin a work in a village on another mountain. |
|

Rodolfo Pacheco, Caucel
and Progreso, Yucatan |
| The Board Members and I who were at the
Yucatan conference saw the great need for a vehicle for him as he
ministers in two places, and also encourages other pastors in the
area. Presently he uses city buses and this requires hours of
travel daily. We ask you to join us in prayer for the Lord to
supply at least $4,000 so he can buy an adequate car or van. To
date, $300 have been received. |
|
Joaquin Blanco, Suchil,

Isaura is a young lady who last year chose to go against her
Christian beliefs. She was at a dance when her ex-boyfriend shot
her in the head. According to her testimony at a youth camp in
April, she acknowledges God's mercy in allowing her to continue living,
though she is paralyzed. Please remember her in prayer. |
