April 2006

...that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death" Hebrews 2:14b

Dear Friends in Christ,

Thank you for praying for my family and for me.  Through your prayers we are encouraged to keep on keeping on, no matter the trials that come our way.

BIBLE DISTRIBUTION

Ten boxes of 32 Bibles each were sent to Honduras with a native missionary.

Bibles have been distributed in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, through a monthly ministry.

A distribution is planned for the weekend of April 29, 2006 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico.  Please pray for an evangelistic team that will share the Good News of salvation and deliver Bibles to each of the families of 65 men who died recently in a tragic mine explosion.

CAMP IN LEON, GUANAJUATO

17 churches participated in the five-day camp

852 adults and young people were pre-registered

Children were not registered

Anyone attending less than 5 days was not registered

Many from the surrounding area visited the evening services

It was not possible to keep count of the professions of faith, or of those surrendering to full-time service.

The cost of the camp was as follows:

Pre-registered adults, 50 pesos; at camp 75 pesos, meals not included

Children, 20 pesos; or 75 pesos with three daily meals

Young people pre-registered, 120 pesos, meals included; at camp, 160 pesos.

(Note: 10 pesos equal $1.00 US currency)

We send a big THANK YOU! to the children who attended VBS at a church in North Carolina and sent their offerings to enable some children to attend camp.  Also, a Ladies Sunday School class of a church in Florida sent an offering to pay for 30 children.

PRAYER REQUEST

Pray that doors may be opened for me to present the ministry in new churches.  Karen and I are praying for the Lord's guidance concerning traveling this summer, if David does not have to attend summer school.

Spanish Baptist Missions has 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt status.  A copy of proof can be furnished to anyone requesting it in writing or in person.

Pray for us.

Joel Silos, D.D.
