Family News
On Thursday, October 25, Karen and I
were participating in a Missions Conference at Garth Road Baptist Church
in Baytown, Texas. Back home, Mary and Chelsey (David's care-giver)
decided to make some doughnuts. The next thing they knew, they had a
kitchen fire! We praise God that our neighbor, Tom Weir, an
experienced fire-fighter, now retired, knew what to do as the
fire-department took 20 minutes to arrive. Thank God no one was
hurt. The house did not burn down.
We have been living in hotels while the kitchen is
being repaired and the house cleaned completely from top to bottom to
eliminate the smoke damage. On weekends we stay at Karen's mother's
house. Please continue to pray for us.
Annual Board of Directors'
Meeting
Our annual Board of Directors' meeting is
scheduled for November 16. We will meet for lunch at 11:00 A.M. at
Canaan Baptist Church, 5581 Salem Road, Covington, Georgia 30081 (Phone
770-786-8885). Pastor Scott Caudill and the members generously
provide a meal for us in the fellowship hall. The meeting is open to
any who would like to attend.
"Elijah School of Prophets" "El Evangelista"
Bible Institute
Please pray with us about a new ministry the Lord has
laid on my heart, "Elijah School of Prophets". It would be a
satellite extension of the Bible Institute "El Evangelista" (The
Evangelist) at Iglesia Bautista "Bet-el" (Bethel Baptist Church) in Leon,
Guanajuato. The plan is to record on DVD's the courses taught by
Pastor Isidro Ontiveros and others. These would be distributed, free
of charge, to the missionary pastors who have planted churches.
They, in turn, would start Bible Institutes to train young people called
into the ministry.
Mephibosheth Ministry "Eating At The King's
Table"
Reaching out with the gospel to people who are
physically-challenged. II Samuel 4:4
We thank God for some forthcoming wheelchairs and
walkers for children and adults. These would be distributed without
cost to people who are physically-challenged. Our goal is to reach
them with the gospel.
We praise God for a special offering designated to
enable physically-challenged people and their care-givers to attend camp
next spring.
Update on my nephew, LCPL Nathan Silos
Nathan is currently on convalescent leave and receiving
out-patient care. He will be evaluated in two weeks. Please
continue to pray for him and also for my sister, Becky, who is waiting for
the oncologist to decide how to treat her cancer.

I give thanks to the One who strengthens me, Christ
Jesus our Lord, because he found me faithful to place me in the ministry.
Brother Joel, I am glad that I can say "hello" to you
with this letter hoping that you are enjoying the blessings of our great
God. My wife, daughter and I are well, thanks be to God, working
arduously in the work of Jesus Christ our Lord.
We have been working with the "Winners of New Souls",
teaching them how to speak to the people and invite them to church, and
when they are in church, to speak to them about baptism. Among these
workers is a brother who after teaching him for almost a month I sent him
with another brother who also had been winning souls to Christ for a short
time and they encountered Jehovah Witnesses in three houses. When
they returned to church after winning souls, he was very nervous. He
told me, "Pastor, I couldn't answer any questions; I stayed quiet.
Please teach me more as I want to know how to win these people to Christ".
He concentrated on doctrine and this past Saturday, he encountered another
Jehovah's Witness. And he was able to win him to Christ and on
Sunday he took him to church and he said he would continue to come to
church.
We have become aware that the priest of the largest
Catholic Church here in San Juan del Rio (Iglesia de San Jose Obrero) is
admonishing his parishioners to be careful with the new Baptist Church
that is located at Canter #38 because it is a dangerous sect.
Several of the parishioners place wooden boxes or plastic cans on the curb
so that our church members cannot park, and other similar acts. Some
of the neighbors started a petition to get signatures requesting that the
owner of the house that we rent, oust us, but we have been praying and the
owner said that as long as we pay the rent on time, he would not have any
problem to continue renting to us.
Please help us to pray:
That God will continue to have an open door
in this city.
That God will give us of His grace so that
we will be able to continue onward.
For the "Winners of Souls".
That God will continue to give us recourses
so that we may continue to build benches as every day we need more.
Thank you for your prayers and support,
Your brother in Christ and faithful servant
says "goodbye" to you,
Pastor Isai Toledo Flores
An Heir of God through Christ,
Joel Silos, D.D.
